The Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC And Noctua’s Standardized Performance Rating

LBC Means Low Base Convexity, Perfect For Flat Chips

It’s sometimes best to get the bad news over with first and in the case of the Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC that would be the price, the MSRP being $150.  For that cost you get over 1.5kg of cooler, with two 140mm fans which stands 168mm tall, 150mm wide, and 152mm thick.  If you have an older LGA1700 chip, you might want the HBC variant that will handle the slight bulge those processors tend to get and there is a plain model that is perfect for just about any chip.

You won’t find a TDP for the cooler, instead the NH-D15 G2 LBC is rated at 228 SPR which is the highest of Noctua’s proprietary measuring system to date.  That helps compare it against other Noctua products but not so much against other brands.  TweakTown never saw their Ryzen 5 3600X top 64.7C which puts this cooler within a stones throw of the best cooler on the market, water or not.  Check out the full review to see if you are impressed enough to pay the price of entry.
