Really only 5.1 surround sound,
While this is a “very good” card, I would suggest that the name be changed to “5.1” surround sound. The via VT1723 Tremor product info says:

There are only 6 channels (5.1), not 8 (7.1).
I can get 6 channels to operate on the card, but not 8.
I think it is a pretty nice card, good functionality, good noise characteristics, great price.

|great sound for a cheap price,
i bought this sound card just to get better sound and it delivered. it was easy to install the card but a little tricky to install the drivers from the cd but since everything is installed it sounds great and overall i really do love this card nice job syba so if anyone who buys this card won’t be disapported

Just works. 5.1 channels are there . But I don’t have many sound tracks to listen . Inexpensive though. Recommended
