   I purchased this power supply unit back in Aug. 2011 from Newegg, for a gamer/work horse desktop. It was on pre-order for quite some time, at Newegg. I got it for $237, but with Newegg’s shipping costs and sales tax, it winded up costing me more than what Amazon’s price is, now. I had some issues with my ASUS Deluxe motherboard, but as soon as I resolve them, I’ll post some pics of my new build with this Seasonic PSU. Here are some key features it has:

   Not often I say this about a power supply, but this product is a standout. From the time you open the package you appreciate the attention to detail the manufacturer put into it.

   I love that this is completely modular. I only need to connect the cables I need.

   Also the cooling solution is very nice. In fact, in the default mode, the fan doesn’t even spin up until the power supply hits moderate load. Even then it is almost silent.

   It’s a little longer than the typical power supply, so if you have a small form factor case (mini-ITX or mini-ATX) make sure to measure beforehand.

   It’s a premium product, and as such carries a premium price. It’s hard to judge if it’s worth the extra cost, but it’s high power output and modularity should mean it’ll have a fairly long usable lifetime.

   This has been my first purchase of a high end PSU (I’ve been building computers for years) and this just has a fantastic WOW factor, from the moment you get the box, it has quality written all over it. Extremely well presented, makes you feel you got value for money even before you install it. Install was a breeze (They even throw in a mini philips screwdriver, cable ties), however do bear in mind it is bigger than your average PSU. I love the modular cables, you plug only what you need, makes your case interior nice and managed. Very quiet operation, no issues.

   For anyone out there hesitating to buy….. just buy it, it is a real quality product.
