Is a 2-year warranty extension enough to get you go with Intel right now?
The ongoing Intel desktop processor crisis has given owners of 13th and 14th Gen Core desktop processors plenty of uncertainty, with CPUs crashing and a promised microcode update still not here. The latest news is that, while Intel still does not have an definitive answer on exactly why some of these CPUs are unstable, at least buyers of retail box units will have three years to have their CPU replaced if the worst happens.
Intel has announced that they will be extending the warranty of boxed 13th and 14th Gen processors by two years, bringing the total up to three years. We await further details, which Intel says will be coming soon. If your retail CPU is affected, you will need to contact Intel support. As to OEM parts, that is a question you will need to ask your system integrator.
