GMYLE (TM) Super Slim USB 2.0 Mini Keyboard For Windows 7 XP Vista

This super light keyboard has built-in steel inside which is a perfect choice for net book users to carry it out. The mini design takes less space and allows you to use the mouse comfortably next to the keyboard. It is easy to get used with these crisp, responsive low profile keys since the keys are basically the same size with normal keyboard. You can just simply plug this mini keyboard into the USB port and start typing.

Kudos to Apple for designing a great compact keyboard Apple Keyboard MB869LL/A. Kudos to the unnamed maker of this keyboard for giving us an affordable Windows version. The keys are the exact size, shape, and layout of an Apple keyboard except Ctrl, Fn, Windows, Alt, Num Lock, Prt Sc, and Delete. Apple’s Delete key is, of course, functionally identical to the Windows Backspace key. A few barely-used commands require two buttons: F11, F12, Page Up, Page Down, Home, End.

Some have stated the keys are too firm. I find them slightly firmer than the keys on my 2008 MacBook. Are they uncomfortably hard? No. One reviewer mentioned you have to turn off Num Lock every time you boot. Just change the setting in your bios so Num Lock is off by default. It should be noted there is a numeric keypad superimposed laptop style, with J-K-L being 1-2-3. It may be useful for some.

Yes, it is plastic. But it looks great and feels very solid. No, it does not function as a USB hub. My only complaint is the white cord. I would have preferred black, but I get why Unnamed Generic Maker went with white. I get why they placed the lights in the top right corner too, though I would have preferred them done like Apple’s Caps Lock key. Still, best Windows keyboard I have found. I like it even better than my trusty blue-illuminated Zippy keyboard. And that’s saying a lot!

This keyboard is basically the exact same size and shape as the MacBook Pro keyboard. It’s nice and small, so it’s doesn’t take up much desktop space at all.

The keys require quite a bit of force to depress, though. They’re much harder than you’d expect from a slim keyboard – especially in comparison with the MBP keyboard, which feels quite natural to type on. I had this keyboard replace my previous full-sized desktop keyboard. I like this because it’s small, but it’s less comfortable to type on because of how much force is required to depress keys. This is probably my largest gripe with this keyboard.

Also, the Fn key for some reason sends out an “a” character in addition to acting as the function key. I don’t know if that’s a specific problem, though. That basically nullifies the numpad on this, which would have otherwise been nice.

I’m using it for both OSX and Windows 7. In OSX, you can swap the Alt and Command keys under System Preferences to have the keys in the same spot as they are on the MacBook.

For the price, an excellent buy. I needed a USB keyboard for my Vaio laptop since the keyboard died within 2 years. SONY wanted $130 and when I opened the laptop to see what was involved, the connectors started breaking (cheap plastic). There was no way I would be able to put in a new keyboard internally. Found this on Amazon and gave it a try.
The design is nice- it is small, extremely light and fits on top of the laptop keyboard. The keys are better than SONY. Don’t know how long it will last- it has only been a month of light use. So far very satisfied.
