Exactly what I needed. I’m an IT student and am collecting some older computers to practice repairs, upgrading, networking, etc. I installed this card in a Gateway (G6-266) that had only a modem. The card was immediately detected (Plug-n-Play!) and worked with existing Windows XP drivers. Looks like it works with Linux (Debian) too.

    Dynex DX-E102 – Network adapter – PCI – Ethernet, Fast Ethernet – 10Base-T, 100Base-TX
Pretty straightforward. It looked like it was of decent quality, fit into it’s PCI slot smoothly, was recognized immediately on Windows XP SP3, driver installed automatically, and internet worked perfectly. Even has a nice blinking light. Includes drivers and software if you want it. An easy way to add ethernet functionality to an old computer or a computer with a broken PCI ethernet card, and costs very little. I’m happy.

This card caused odd problems with a WinXP SP3 system: crashing browsers, dropped DSL connection, and worst of all, random restarts. Yikes. Replaced with a 3M card; problems solved.
