You Can’t Game 24/7
The majority of wireless headsets are aimed at gaming, and your workplace might not be in love with the amount of light emanating from the multitude of RGBs that infest many gaming headsets. The Dell Premier Wireless ANC WL7024 headset has a much more professional design that will be far more acceptable at work. They offer active ANC, which of course they claim is AI powered, and there is no microphone boom, the same microphones that handle ANC also pick up your voice on calls. TweakTown were impressed with the effectiveness of Dell’s implementation, the voice quality is crisp and clear; better than many a gaming headset.
The $360 price tag on the ANC WL7024 puts it in the same category as the EPOS Impact 1060, and the performance is similar. They both ship with apps that let you modify how the ANC works and sidetone control. The equalizer and sound effect options are quite limited, but as you will be using the ANC WL7024 at work that is not quite as important as when you are enjoying some personal time. Dell did include one light on the headset, similar to the EPOS set it will glow when you are on a call which will hopefully dissuade coworkers from walking over to your desk to ask if you are on a call.
The battery will give you 12 hours of use after a quick 15-minute charge, a full charge should last around 18 hours with ANC cranked up and somewhat longer without active cancellation. The ANC WL7024, like the EPOS, offers wireless charging via the include stand however neither headset stand has a place to store the wireless dongle you need to plug into your laptop for the best connection possible. You can go straight Bluetooth 5.3, but you will miss out on some features.
