Dead after 6 months,
I used this motherboard for a workstation at work to do scientific calculations. While it worked this motherboard was OK. My main complaint was a buggy BIOS. After six months of use the motherboard suddenly and without warning died on me. I contacted ASUS for a warranty replacement. Around ten days later I received a replacement motherboard. However, the replacement had visible manufacturing defects: the motherboard was extremely warped. I really find it surprising that such an obvious manufacturing defect made it past quality control at ASUS. I contacted ASUS again and spent quite a long time on the phone with them. As of now the issue has yet to be resolved. ASUS said they would call me back but as of now they have not. I am disappointed with the quality of this motherboard, ASUS’ quality control, and their warranty service. I have not been able to work now for several weeks because of these problems. I would not recommend purchasing this motherboard.

Excellent product,
This has to be one of the most feature packed motherboards I’ve ever encountered. The ROG OC Key is great to monitor system settings with the system. Also the iROG app lets you view the status of your system using an iPad, ipod, or Droid. I had trouble with the iPad app, so I’m sticking to the android version. The start and reset buttons on the motherboard make quick work of troubleshooting, plus the diagnostic LEDs take the guesswork out of pinpointing problem spots. This board overclocks like a dream a gives you plenty of adjustment options. There are too many good things to say about this board; the only negative points would be that NVidia is not enabling PCI 3.0 support of the GTX 680 on X79 boards yet, although this board has support. I suppose that is NVidia’s fault, but disheartening nonetheless. Also the price point was a little higher than I would expect for this type of board, but you get what you pay for.

Seems to be a good Motherboard.,
Bought from Amazon.
~~ITEM~~
ASUS Pros:
==========
An abundance of features.
OC Key is a nice addition.
Best rated LGA2011 motherboard out the (March 2012).
Works, seems stable on stock speeds (so far).
ROG part of website helpful.
ASUS Cons:
==========
Inconsistent build quality.
Poor packaging (hard to tell if box has been previously opened, some people report having some contents packed in bags other don’t).
Dirty fingerprint on the Debug LEDs (Amazon told me it was “new”).
Non-ROG part of website and customer service VERY slow!

Amazon Pros:
============
Delivered quickly via Amazon Prime.
Trust Amazon to fix any issue should I have a faulty product.
Amazon Cons:
============
Poorly packaged, considering price and fragility.
Paid $451 for this item then noticed that I could report lower prices to help keep Amazon competitive – reported that Newegg was selling for $439 and supplied the link, about an hour later Amazon lowered their price. I ask if they’d refund the difference but told I would have to return item and re-order.. hence no real point in helping keep Amazon competitive.
