Good Motherboard – Poor Presentation,
Paid: $120 after rebate – I’ve seen this board go for $105 after rebate.
Pro:
> The motherboard is very nice – it has all the features you need in a motherboard, SLI, crossfire, SATA3, USB 3.0, pcie 3.0, etc. And it is very quick to post.
> 2x SATA3 and 4xSATA2 – Very nice: all you need and than some extra.
> Slightly narrower than traditional ATX, but same length: This is nice, since It’s easier to install into my case :D. But does not sacrifice pci lanes etc.
> UEFI Bios
> Fast Post: I have several other ASUS motherboards, and a lot of them have weird problems here and there – such as double post, slow post, even triple post [on a $180 motherboard!], and etc. [and yes, I have checked online for solutions and updated the bios’s]. So this board wins some points since it has none of these problems.
Cons:
> Motherboard color: It looks like black in the picture – but it is actually this nasty dark brown. The board is black, but the majority of it is covered by dark brown circuitry. Hideous.
> Cheap IO Shield: The IO shield (backplate) is the traditional cheapo thin metal w/ cutouts you see in $60 motherboards. Anoying that a retail $160 board comes with a cheap shield.
> Doesn’t have one of those power/reset/Speaker pin blocks that makes it easier to install the motherboard.
> 2x USB 2.0 – Need at least 4. Windows 7 doesn’t seem to natively support USB 3.0: It’s hard to install windows 7 with just 2x USB 2.0. [Mouse, Keyboard, Win7 Install USB] I had to temporarily install a USB expansion card. Though you could probably just constantly swap between mouse and keyboard to get through the install.

Verdict:
>Very good value board, especially if you get it for $120 like I did. It comes with some very useful features and probably one of the best deals on the market.
Yes, ASUS really skimped out on some small things with this board – but that doesn’t effect the quality or the performance: this board is great.
