    This is a solid graphics card for those that demand the best in performance. It’s important to note though that it’s probably overkill for those of you playing at 1080p, if that’s your target resolution a 670 is probably a good fit for performance.

    I’m running this with a 2560×1440 display and so far I’ve cranked everything to the max and noticed no major issues in performance (a few spots in Crysis 3 were in the 30fps range). So ultimately i’m more than happy with this card for my gaming needs. SLI for the TITANS are way overkill and that extra 1k in gpus would be spent better in other places.

    Keep in mind this is a full display port card and you’ll need a mini display adapter if you decide to use with a cinema display.

    This card is absolutely eye candy. I like small form factors and use high end mATX builds while the 690’s high power-draw, minor driver issues with some games and occasional micro shuttering problems caused me to abandon it. So TITAN came to the rescue. On a single 2560×1440 display, this card handled Total War 2: Shogun, Metro 2033 and FarCry 3 very well, especially FarCry3; maintained a good 45-60 FPS (most of the time 60FPS) with everything maxed out. I initially thought 6GB of VRAM is complete overkill for a single screen, but apparently not, when I ran Crysis3 maxed out (awesome graphics, horrible campaign), VRAM usage was on average around 4.5-5GB. This card is equipped to allow you to render a game across multiple screens on a SINGLE card, like the 680 (unlike the 580), but even on my 1920x1080x3 setup, not much ran very smooth maxed out… (FPS was dropping to 20FPS at times), think SLI from here on. I noticed perhaps a driver issue with CS: GO (source engine), game occasionally froze for a second or two in the lobby (but not in-game), never happened before. But Nvidia’s usually on top of things with their driver updates so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

    Make sure your mainboard BIOS is up-to-date when installing this card.

    UPDATE: The last CS:GO update seems to have resolved the TITAN problem, playing CS:GO with everything maxed out puts this card at 99{b81fbfd19e1fca5890798868c0714c408bbd5ec471654b6f9630c0fffa6e7eb3} and VRam usage on an average of around 5GB on 2560×1440 (VSync triple buffered). I tested a little GPU based design rendering with a large model in LUMION 3D, the card renders on high quality at 1920×1080 at about 0.09 seconds per frame (GPU usage at 30-40{b81fbfd19e1fca5890798868c0714c408bbd5ec471654b6f9630c0fffa6e7eb3}). VRay RT also ran much faster than on a GTX 680.

    UPDATE II: Tomb Raider (2013 reboot) is a real graphics card killer. On 2560×1440, now AFTER the NVidia driver update and game update that addressed performance and hair TressFX issues; with SSAA 4x, I’m getting 15-24FPS VSync tripple buffered. FXAA and VSync double buffered gives me 26min-60max FPS (35FPS average). Note everything else was set to max. Both settings are very playable, no “slideshow” moments… VRam usage is in the 3-4GB range.

    One great thing about this card is the absolute power to go SLI in a future build/upgrade. Low power consumption and 3 way SLI capability puts this card way ahead of ALL other ultra-end cards, including the 690 and AMD’s 7990 (As of April 2013). $1000 per card is pricey, but given that this card will be in the tops for at least the next 5-6 years in just 2-way SLI ($2000), it is not thaaaaat bad. Makes everyone wonder will the 780 outperform the TITAN? My best guess would be NO. The 780 will be in the $500 range with refreshed Kepler architecture (GK114 chip), 2-4GB of RAM and yield a 12-20{b81fbfd19e1fca5890798868c0714c408bbd5ec471654b6f9630c0fffa6e7eb3} better performance than the 680. The TITAN should still lead the 780 by around a 15-30{b81fbfd19e1fca5890798868c0714c408bbd5ec471654b6f9630c0fffa6e7eb3} based on what resolution and application you are running.

    If you want the best of 2013, buy the TITAN; if you want to wait, skip the 780 and get the 880 (Maxwell architecture) in 2014.

    If your into high end gamming and want the best gpu card then I would still probably recommend the GTX 690, but if you want comparable performance and a single gpu card then by all means go with the titan. I must admit as of right now I am not getting my moneys worth with this card as I currently just have a single monitor setup and on top of that it max out at 1080p. So right now all that extra vram is just being wasted and that’s one of the main things that set it apart from it’s competition. I am keeping this short and just saying this is a great card and the fact that it is a single gpu unlike the 690 scaling in sli is a lot better. If you want a full in-depth review of this card I suggest looking it up on a technology site (toms hardware is usually pretty good).
