    Hello.

I have been “out-of-the-loop” regarding PC hardware but I decided to build a mini system to get rid of the huge PC Case I had on the floor so I opted for a Mini-ITX system. The price was right on this Gigabyte board (I’m partial to Gigabyte). Specs, well, I wont talk about those but I will say that the board performs as expected.

    Pros:

    1) Wifi!!
    2) Accepts newest Intel i3/i5/i7 gen 3 CPUs (no firmware updates needed)
    3) Enough USB2/3 SATA2/3 ports for my use.

    Cons:

    1) As most mITX motherboards, if you use the wrong cooler YOU WILL BLOCK the PCI-Express slot! Right now I’m using the stock Intel cooler :-(. The only 2 mini-ITX motherboards that are designed differently are: Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe and the new ECS Stinger Z77 mini-ITX board. I will probably try one of those in the future… not sure.
    2) Overall board design is a bit iffy… I thought I was the only one but I read a review online (Anandtech I believe) and it seems I’m not alone in this.

Anyway, all in all I can’t fault the design that much. My system works as it should and the board seems to handle everything well. Four solid stars!

    ** First “review” 🙂 Yay! **

I used this motherboard for an hackintosh build with an Ivy Bridge i3 and it worked well but does not allow me to utilize the built-in wifi or bluetooth functionality with OSX.

Installed this 3 weeks ago in my new htpc build, running great so far. I put this in the Lian Li PCQ12-B HTPC case with a Core i3 T, stock cooler, and 128GB SSD, along with 8 GB RAM. The two external wifi/bluetooth antennas that come with the motherboard are a little annoying but I hid them in the back of my media stand however they do provide great wifi reception. Huge tip – hold down the “Delete” key to launch the BIOS screen on boot, I was just tapping it repeatedly as the instructions said and I kept thinking the build was wrong. Nope, just hold it down on boot and BIOS should pop up. Also note, there is no mini external speaker or power button built into this mobo for post beeps, perhaps this was asking a bit too much from a tiny miny-ITX board, not a bid deal.
