Let me first say that I’m a gamer, who uses primarily gaming input devices like the Sidewinder X4, X5 and x6 mouse/keyboards. Likewise I also have used keyboards built by Steelseries. However, I know that many of the users out there are just surfing the net or using Microsoft products, and don’t need all the extra bells and whistles. I have to say, this product is pretty impressive for you.
First, this is the MK260 Combo from Logitech. It is actually the M210 mouse and K260 keyboard packaged together. They both provide wireless service through a USB adapter, and it runs plug-and-play (I use win 7 pro). Not a bad deal really for two pretty good wireless devices.
The M210 is a mouse that is run by 1 AA battery. It is lightweight and between the size of a notebook mouse and a hunky gaming mouse. According to the box, it has a 5 month battery life. I’ve been using mine for 3 months, and it’s still going strong. It’s a 3-button mouse (right, left and scroll-button)–not enough buttons for me, but good for the typical computer user. I haven’t had much trouble with lagging, and with 1000dpi, it tracks very well on both my mousepad and my woodgrain desktop.
The K260 is a lightweight full-keyboard (with number pad) run by 2 AAA batteries. It has a full row of function keys and also possesses a grey row of media half-keys. The keys are smooth and light to the touch, and the keyboard is lighter than a paperback book. There are rubber stoppers on the underside to keep it in place, but I have it on my lap most of the time, and there’s really no issue. The major drawback (ok it’s minor) is the lack of indicator lights for the number and caps lock keys. I’m often pressing these multiple times to see if they’re on or not. The box says 24 month battery life… on 2 AAA’s? Yeah right–however, if you’re only replacing 6 batteries total in a year, that’s actually not bad at all. No real lagging issues here either.
I like this keyboard because it’s wireless, light and it works. As for distance, I usually work between 5 and 10 feet away from my monitor. However, I’ve pulled it back to the kitchen (~20 ft from the monitor) and I can see that things are happening on the screen. However, I can’t tell if they are errors or whatnot, since I can’t see the monitor from that far away. You probably will not need to use the keyboard or mouse from that far away either unless your display is 50+ inches big.
Ultimately, the price is worth the package. You’re getting quality wireless devices here for less than $30. You can’t usually find one of these items within that price range in this quality. I highly recommend it. However, I also want to state that if you’re a gamer, this probably isn’t the keyboard/mouse combo for you.

PROS:
* This Keyboard and Mouse combo is easy as pie to install, simply install the batteries and plug in the receiver.
* The keys are nicely responsive and feel solidly built.
* Long battery life.
* It simply works great.
CONS:
* The mouse is small (but not uncomfortable).
* There are no Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock indicators.
* The Logitech software provides no customization or feature controls.

|Excellent wireless performance, perfect setup, mediocre mouse and keyboard,
I’ve set this up on three computers, both Win7 and Vista. On each system setup was simply a matter of plugging in the transponder to a USB port and waiting while the OS detected it. Both the mouse and keyboard came up perfectly on all three systems. Wireless works to over 15 feet, again flawlessly. The keyboard has a slightly mushy feel and weighs less than most, with a harder-than-usual key press. I like a wireless KB to be heavy so I can work with it on my lap, so it doesn’t hop around with each keystroke. This one should be heavier. There are no LEDs for cap or num lock. The mouse is imprecise and sometimes doesn’t track very well. My cheapo Dell mouse, that shipped free with a system, works better. MUCH better. So: very good setup, very good wireless, cheap keyboard and mouse.
